President’s Note

Welcome from our president, Rocco!

Welcome to 180 Degrees Consulting at the University of Virginia—we’re glad to have caught you! If you don’t already know us, we are a group of students who do pro bono consulting work for local nonprofits in the Charlottesville community. My name is Rocco Burdge, and I am honored to be the President of 180DC for the 2024 school year.

In the nearly five years since our founding, our branch has grown an incredible amount. Our reputation for outstanding work and sustainable, long-term solutions has given us the opportunity to work with stellar clients doing extraordinary work in our community. We have worked on 57 projects to date, and even won an international award. Though our clients' challenges vary, we consistently offer implementable, well- thought out solutions to whatever problem is presented to us. From working in sectors ranging from food insecurity to nonprofit construction to youth development, we have continued to tackle new problems and learn about increasingly creative and unique ways to aid our community.

None of our success would have been possible without our student consultants, community clients, or supportive alumni. To the students, none of our success or impact would have been made possible without you bright, creative, and kind people. To the clients, thank you for trusting and believing in us. And to our alumni, thank you for showing up to support us year after year. On behalf of myself and the entire 180DC at UVA team, thank you all for your dedication and continued engagement with our branch.
