Creative Ideas. Practical Solutions. Lasting Change.

Our Mission

180 Degrees Consulting was founded in 2007 at the University of Sydney. It has grown to become the world's largest student volunteer consultancy with over 150 branches across 33 countries. The organization started with a mission to connect talented and socially conscious students with high potential nonprofit organizations and social enterprises to further their social impact.

Here at UVA, our branch keeps social impact at the forefront of our work, engaging with non-profits and social enterprises in the greater Charlottesville area. Founded in 2019, we are an intellectually diverse and curious group of ~40 students united by a common vision of a more equitable world. To date, we have completed 57 projects with 57 unique nonprofits.

  • Our People

We are a group of 36 UVA students who come from a variety of backgrounds, majors, and years. However, what we all have in common is our desire to work with nonprofit organizations and find solutions to local challenges. We are committed to researching and delivering high-quality solutions for nonprofits. We will open recruiting to UVA students in Fall 2024!

  • Our Projects

We work on a variety of consulting projects, ranging from marketing strategy to data analysis. We work in teams of 4-5 with one client contact for the length of a full UVA semester. During the project, we give a mid-semester presentation to the client contact and provide a mid-semester report. Based on client feedback, the team develops and presents a final slidedeck and report with thorough and actionable recommendations.

  • Our Partners

We have worked with 57 nonprofits in the greater Charlottesville and central Virginia areas. Past clients include the Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle, Habitat for Humanity, and H.E.R. Sports. We engage directly with our clients and work very closely with them, figuring out their biggest problems, possible solutions, and other ways to maximize efforts.
